XLVets Welcomes Roxanne Hobbs as Independent Non-Executive Director and Co-Chair

XLVets has strengthened its board with the appointment of Roxanne Hobbs as an independent non-executive director and Co-Chair.

Roxanne will work alongside current Chair Jonathan Stockton, bringing an independent perspective and extensive leadership experience from outside the veterinary profession.

Already known to many within the XLVets community, Roxanne supported a Veterinary Women in Leadership event in 2020 and delivered a popular Courageous Leadership workshop at the XLVets AGM in 2025.

Her background spans leadership development, coaching, culture change, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), facilitation and team development. As founder of The Hobbs Consultancy, Roxanne works with organisations to build high-performing, inclusive teams and has extensive experience helping leaders navigate change.

Commenting on her appointment, Roxanne said:

"What drew me in is the strength of the community and the willingness to keep evolving. Community is one of my core values, and I'm really looking forward to working with an organisation that has a purpose aligned so strongly with my own.

"This is an exciting opportunity to join XLVets at an important time for the veterinary profession. I'm looking forward to bringing an independent perspective, supporting the board to perform at its best, and helping XLVets navigate change whilst laying the foundations for an inclusive, high-performing future."

XLVets CEO Kerrie Hedley said:

"We are very pleased to welcome Roxanne to the board. She brings a breadth of experience that complements the skills we already have and strengthens our ability to think differently as a leadership team.

"This appointment reflects what many of our members have been asking for and mirrors steps they are taking within their own businesses.

"At a time of significant change within the profession and more broadly, Roxanne's experience in supporting high-performing teams to navigate complexity and embrace diverse thinking will be invaluable."

The appointment reflects XLVets' commitment to strengthening its governance and bringing a broader range of perspectives into its leadership as the veterinary profession continues to evolve.
