XLVets AGM and Summer Meeting Brings Community Together and Marks New Chapter in Leadership

The XLVets AGM and Summer Meeting, held in June, brought members, industry partners and speakers together for two days of discussion, collaboration and shared learning.

The event provided an opportunity for the XLVets community to reflect on progress, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for the future. Across the meeting, members engaged in thoughtful conversations on key industry topics, while partners and speakers contributed valuable insights and perspectives.

There was a strong sense of optimism throughout the event, with discussions highlighting the strength of the community and a shared commitment to supporting independently owned veterinary practices across the UK.

A significant moment of the meeting came as Andrew Curwen marked the transition of leadership to Kerrie Hedley, who has taken on the role of CEO. After more than 20 years with XLVets, Andrew chose the AGM as the occasion to formally pass the baton, recognising both the progress made under his leadership and the opportunities ahead for the community.

The handover reflected the continuity, trust and collaborative spirit that have long been central to XLVets.

XLVets would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the AGM and Summer Meeting, including members, speakers and event partners. Special thanks go to Bimeda, Boehringer Ingelheim, CEVA Santé Animale, Dechra, Dômes Pharma, Duggan Veterinary Supplies, Forte Healthcare, Huvepharma, Krka, MSD, Norbrook, Pioneer Veterinary Products, VidiVet and Zoetis for their valued support and engagement.

Reflecting on the event, Kerrie Hedley said:

"It was fantastic to see so many members, partners and speakers coming together. The discussions, energy and willingness to share ideas highlighted the strength of our community and the opportunities we have to continue learning from and supporting one another."

Members who attended are encouraged to share their reflections and key takeaways from the event as conversations continue across the XLVets community.
