Celebrating Lyndsay Hughes – Winner of the BSAVA Veterinary Nurse Award 2026

We are delighted to celebrate BVNA Senior Vice President Lyndsay Hughes, who has been awarded the BSAVA Veterinary Nurse Award 2026 for her exceptional contribution to the veterinary nursing profession.

The BSAVA recognised Lyndsay for her outstanding leadership, tireless advocacy, and unwavering commitment to the profession. During her tenure as BVNA President (2023–25), Lyndsay played a pivotal role in guiding and representing veterinary nurses across the UK through a period of significant change. Her work spanned countless online and in‑person meetings, where she championed the voice of veterinary nurses with professionalism, compassion and determination.

Alongside her national leadership responsibilities, Lyndsay also serves as Small Animal Director at Drove Veterinary Hospital in Wiltshire. As the only veterinary nurse on the hospital’s board, she brings a vital and respected nursing perspective to strategic decision‑making, clinical governance, operational development and team progression, driving meaningful impact at every level.
