The Role
This is a full-time training position comprising 4 days per week in practice and 1 day per week at college as part of your Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
You will also participate in a rota including 1 in 6 Saturday mornings and 1 in 12 on-call weekends, as well as some bank holidays.
As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will work alongside our experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses, gaining hands-on experience while building the skills and confidence required to qualify.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the nursing care of cats, dogs, and small animals
Supporting theatre procedures, dental procedures and taking diagnostic images
Inpatient care
Learning to monitor anaesthesia and provide post-operative care
Assisting with administering treatments and medications under supervision
Learning to take blood samples and place intravenous catheters
Running in-house laboratory diagnostics
Maintaining accurate clinical records
Supporting clients with empathy and professionalism
Upholding excellent infection control and hygiene standards
