Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care is a founding member of XLVets. We are based in the market town of Hexham in the Tyne Valley, nestled between the Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines AONB. We cover a large area of Northumberland and County Durham providing equine and small animal services to a largely rural community but also touching on the Tyne and Wear conurbation. We are very proud of our 24 hour service in both the equine and small animal sectors, each backed up with a staffed 24 hour facility for emergency care and inpatient support in both departments. We cover all aspects of general practice and our equine department extends beyond that to provide in-house theatre services, racecourse attendance and BARTA training. We run our own training company, CPD Actif, which combines active learning style personal and workplace development with a touch of adventure!
