Leading People

The Castle Hotel, Taunton

A group of people in a conference room, engaging in a brainstorming session. One person is writing on a whiteboard while others observe and participate. A round table with refreshments is visible in the foreground. Red chairs and large windows illuminate the space.

Course Description

Leading People is a two-day, hands-on course designed for anyone in the veterinary world who wants to lead with more confidence, clarity and impact. It’s not about sitting through endless slides or memorising leadership jargon. Instead, you’ll get stuck into real conversations, explore how the brain works when it comes to leadership and learn why emotional and social intelligence are so important.

You’ll reflect on your own leadership style, have discussions with peers and leave with fresh ideas and a renewed sense of purpose. The course is grounded in adult learning theory, which means it’s built around your existing knowledge and experience, not a one-size-fits-all approach. You’ll return to practice feeling energised, motivated, and ready to try out new ways of leading.

Who is it for?

Leading People is designed for anyone in a veterinary practice who wants to grow their confidence and capability as a leader, whatever your job title. Whether you’re leading a team, a project, or just want to lead yourself more effectively, this course gives you the space and tools to do just that.

What will I learn?
  • Understand yourself better and how your leadership style affects others.

  • Explore the neuroscience behind leadership and how our brains shape the way we lead.

  • Learn how emotional and social intelligence can make you a more effective leader.

  • Discover the power of self-awareness and how it helps you grow.

  • Gain practical tools and ideas you can actually use (and remember!) in your day-to-day work.

  • Connect with peers and share real-life leadership experiences.
