Our independent practice has been long established in the community, and we have family farms as our clients for generations. Many of our farms are within a 15-mile radius of the practice and include beef, sheep and a couple of dairy farms. We are privileged to have an on-site large animal block for lambings, ewe caesareans and calf in-patients. We can carry out faecal egg counts with our FECPAK machine on-site. We provide bull and ram fertility visits as well as regular farm meetings and newsletters.
Our small animal hospital has four consulting rooms, separate kennels and cattery wards, isolation kennels, digital Xray machine, a dental suite with digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG and in-house laboratory (Idexx haematology and biochemistry machines).
We provide our own out of hours service with 24-hour on-site nursing care.
We have a mixture of new graduates to experienced veterinary surgeons. Several of our veterinary surgeons have further studied to obtain certificates in many subjects including advanced cattle practice, soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology and an internal medic in the pipeline! As such, our collective team of veterinary surgeons have a vast array of clinical and practical knowledge.
We have an excellent nurse team to support our vets and are an RCVS-accredited nurse training practice. We provide generous employee discount and are enrolled in the NEST pension scheme. Interested? Give us a call on 01639 642739 or drop us an email: admin@afonvets.com
