We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our progressive, dedicated and friendly small animal team in the heart of the North Dorset countryside due to an increase in work load and current expansion. We are looking for a full time experienced veterinary surgeon or new graduate to join our team in this beautiful part of the country.
Our RCVS accredited practice is proudly independent and a member of XL Vets. We have been serving our community for over 60 years. Initially a mixed practice, the clinic has now progressed to dedicated small animal and livestock health teams. We run our own out of hours service with a comfortable 1 in 7 rota shared equally with time off in lieu. Our excellent, supportive nursing team consists of 9 RVNs, some of whom assist in the out of hours cover. We have 2 well equipped branch surgeries and a main branch with all the usual toys including a brand new ultrasound. We have a lovely and growing client base and our team of vets, nurses and office staff work hard together to provide an excellent service to the local area.
If you are an experienced vet, we offer support for continuing education including certificates. Our vets have full clinical freedom and there is regular, open discussion of cases and ideas. Independence allows interested vets to pursue the possibility management and directorship roles in the future.
For those of you graduating this year, we provide the perfect start in small animal veterinary practice within a supportive and friendly team. You’ll have a mentor, be enrolled in the XLVets New Graduate Scheme, supported to complete your PDP and given phased entry into out of hours work with dedicated back up until you are comfortable going solo.
So why should you work for us? We offer a competitive salary package, RCVS fees, BSAVA membership, funded CPD and private medical insurance. Our abiding ethos is to care for our patients and clients but also to care for each other. We’re looking for someone who will share these values. The practice was recently voted ‘Best Place to Work’ in the local business awards which speaks volumes about the type of practice we are.
