Are you a recently graduated Small Animal Vet looking to work for an independent veterinary practice?

About Us
Hook Norton Veterinary Group is a well-established independent practice that offers dedicated small animal, equine & farm care across a wide geographical area. We currently have 3 branch surgeries located in Charlbury, Deddington & Moreton-in-Marsh. Our main tier-3 RCVS accredited Small Animal Hospital is based on the outskirts of Hook Norton, with excellent transport links nearby to London and Birmingham (only 1 hour away). Our surgeries boast state of the art equipment, allowing us to offer ‘Gold Standard’ veterinary care, including endoscopy and surgical suites. At HNVG, we pride ourselves on our client retention and clinical decision making rather than focusing solely on achieving rigid sales targets.

We are proud to be one of the founding members of XLVets. This is a group of privately-owned veterinary practices spanning the length and breadth of the UK, working together to share veterinary ideas, knowledge, and skills.

Job Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a new graduate or recently qualified Small Animal Vet looking to expand and develop their skills within both a busy hospital and branch environment on a permanent basis. You will be joining a large, friendly and dedicated team that will provide you with the support and mentoring you need to develop your career in a thriving practice.

With full mentoring and training, you will develop the skills needed to manage and work up cases without intervention. Mentoring is offered via designated internal staff and external support through the XLVets graduate program. This is complimented by our structured career pathway program designed to support your long term career aspirations. Initially you will be working on-site at our busy Hospital, and in time as your skills level grows, you may have occasional sole charge at Branch. We have introduced realistic 15 minute consults giving you time to engage fully with each client. As we have a dedicated in- house Night Team providing 24-hour care for our clients and patients, there is no Night OOH required of you but to gain emergency care experience you will be participating in the Saturday/Sunday day shift OOH.
