Marketing Executive: Permanent Role
Location: Hook Norton (office-based), Oxfordshire
Hours: Up to full-time, Monday to Friday – flexible start and finish times
Reports to: Managing Director
Hook Norton Veterinary Group is seeking a creative, proactive, and driven Marketing Executive to take the lead on all things marketing and communications. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves variety and wants to make a genuine impact within a respected, community-based business.
The successful candidate will be the heartbeat of the brand, helping to shape how the practice presents itself to clients, the community, and the wider industry. From digital campaigns and storytelling to community events and sponsorships, the Marketing Executive will play a key role in sharing the practice’s values, services, and personality with the world.
This is a stand-alone role, offering true autonomy and creative freedom. The Marketing Executive will be trusted to plan, deliver, and evolve the marketing strategy while exploring the areas of marketing that most excite them. Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Brand
- Develop and implement creative marketing and communication strategies that reflect the practice’s mission and values.
- Create seasonal campaigns and ensure brand voice and identity are consistent across every channel — from print and digital to in-practice displays.
Content & Digital
- Produce engaging, shareable content for social media, website (CMS), newsletters, and blogs.
- Keep the online presence vibrant, informative, and aligned with the tone of voice.
- Manage the digital reputation, ensuring client feedback and reviews are responded to promptly and positively.
- Support internal communications by sharing practice news and achievements across the team.
Events & Community
- Organise and represent Hook Norton Vets at local shows, open days, careers fairs, and community events.
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and organisations to strengthen community presence.
- Bring warmth, creativity, and energy to every interaction, online and in person.
Advertising & Sponsorship
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage advertising and sponsorship opportunities, tracking their success and return on investment.
- Ensure all marketing spend delivers measurable impact and supports business objectives.
Reporting & Insights
- Monitor marketing performance using KPIs, SEO data, and analytics tools.
- Produce regular reports highlighting what’s working well and where improvements can be made.
- Use insights to refine strategy, ensuring campaigns remain effective, relevant, and engaging.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with a creative spark who thrives on autonomy and variety. They will bring ideas to the table, turn plans into action, and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing their work make a visible difference.
They will bring:
- 2+ years’ marketing experience, preferably gained in a stand-alone role (veterinary, healthcare, multi-site, or rural/agriculture experience a bonus)
- Strong written, visual, and creative skills, whether that’s copywriting, photography, design, or video
- Confidence across digital platforms: social media, email marketing, CMS, SEO, PPC
- Familiarity with tools like WordPress, Mailchimp, Meta, Adobe, and CRMs
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to balance multiple projects with ease
- A friendly and collaborative attitude, comfortable chatting to clients as well as writing campaign plans
- A full UK driving licence and own transport (the practice is in a stunning rural setting)
- A genuine passion for animals, farming, equine care, and country life
- Experience driving B2C engagement, lead generation, and brand growth through clever, creative marketing
