About Belmont Farm & Equine Vets

Belmont Farm and Equine Vets is an independently owned large animal practice based in the picturesque surroundings of Herefordshire and neighbouring counties. The team operates from three clinics and is structured collaboratively, with dedicated farm and equine vets working in species-specific roles.

The practice serves a diverse client base, ranging from pleasure riders and donkey enthusiasts to professional competition horses. Belmont prides itself on delivering a high-quality first opinion ambulatory service, with a proactive approach to case management in the field. Strong relationships with local referral centres ensure seamless hospital-based diagnostics and treatment when required.

Belmont fosters a learning-focused culture, supported by access to advanced diagnostic equipment including mobile digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and gastroscopy. The veterinary team is backed by a committed group of support staff who prioritise case continuity and help build trusted, sustainable relationships between vets, clients and colleagues.

The Role

Belmont Farm and Equine Vets is seeking an experienced equine-focused veterinary surgeon to join its team of six equine vets to provide maternity cover on a fixed-term contract, starting in January 2026. This is a great opportunity to work in a beautiful part of the world in a supportive, professional environment with great values and an emphasis on facilitating a healthy and sustainable work-life balance.

The post is flexible and whilst a full-time position is preferable, a part-time role would be considered, taking an equal share in the 1:5 OOH rota.

What Belmont Offer

Pro rata salary is commensurate with experience, accompanied by a generous holiday allowance. RCVS membership and CPD allowance are included. Additional benefits comprise private medical insurance, a six-monthly wellbeing bonus, and monthly ‘Treat Fridays’.
