News - Dave Phillips from Synergy Farm Health Represents England at 2025 Hoof Trimming World Cup
XLVets is proud to celebrate the achievements of Dave Phillips from Synergy Farm Health, who recently represented England at the prestigious 2025 World Hoof Trimming Cup in Spain.
The international competition took place at the historic Mas Bes farm, a renowned site with over 1,200 Friesian-Holstein cows and five generations of livestock farming heritage. The event was hosted as part of the Anka Summer Trimming School and the International Hoof Health and Welfare Conference, drawing 28 elite hoof trimmers from around the globe.
Dave secured his place on the England team after winning the UK qualifying heat at the NACFT AGM in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this year. Competing against top-tier talent, he delivered an outstanding performance, finishing sixth overall a testament to his technical skill, professionalism, and commitment to advancing hoof care standards.
The competition assessed participants on key trimming criteria including hoof length, sole thickness, balance, and modelling. Judging was conducted by an international panel under a rigorous scoring system that prioritised fairness and animal welfare.
Beyond the competition, the two-day event featured hands-on workshops, technical sessions, and valuable networking opportunities. It served as a vibrant platform for sharing best practices and celebrating the global hoof trimming community’s dedication to continuous improvement.
The World Cup was streamed live on YouTube, allowing supporters from around the world to cheer on their national representatives. You can watch the replay here
