Employment Type:
Full Time
Role:
Veterinary Surgeon
Required Experience:
1-3 years experience

Friars Moor Veterinary Clinic is located in the beautiful Blackmore Vale in North Dorset, providing veterinary care in Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, with branches in Sturminster Newton, Shaftesbury and Blandford.

We are offering an opportunity for an experienced, passionate small animal vet, committed to delivering an exceptional level of care to both patients and their owners, to join our proudly independent practice.

Prospects of future management role and part ownership for the right applicant.

The Role

Due to current expansion, we are offering an exciting opportunity to join our progressive, dedicated, and friendly small animal team in the heart of the North Dorset countryside, to help us provide an exceptional service to our local community.

We are looking for a full (4-day week) or part-time experienced veterinary surgeon to join our team of 9 vets. We have an excellent, supportive nursing team comprising 12 Registered Veterinary Nurses and a dedicated on-call nursing team.

We operate 3 well-equipped branch surgeries all with DR x-ray, in-house IDEXX laboratory, ultrasound scanners and all other usual toys.

We run our own on-call service, from our main branch with a comfortable 1 in 7 rota shared pro-rata.

Our RCVS-accredited practice is proudly independent and a member of XL Vets.

All our vets have full clinical freedom and there is regular, open discussion of cases and ideas. Independence allows interested vets to pursue their clinical interests and the possibility of management and directorship roles in the future.

The Package

  • Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
  • Private medical insurance with Vitality
  • Generous holiday allowance - 26.5 days for a full-time 4-day week
  • Generous pension scheme
  • RCVS, BSAVA and VDS membership fees, fully funded
  • Generously funded CPD
  • We are committed to green initiatives and a “Cycle To Work“ scheme is available to all members

Our abiding ethos is to care for our patients and clients but also to care for each other. Friars Moor has a strong family feel and team spirit. It is truly a great workplace place to be a part of.
