Programme Outline: Attendees will learn “best” practice; from the what, why and hows of delivering mentoring successfully, to core coaching skills. As with clinical development, mentoring requires a combination of theory and practice. If you have made the decision to mentor team members this course will provide you with the skills and ongoing support in your new role.

  • Understanding mentoring.
  • Mentoring models: the ‘Model T’ and ‘The GROW Model’.
  • Practicing mentoring skills.
  • The art of listening.
  • Practical tools to aid mentoring.

Introducing mentoring into your practice can be a key tool for recruitment and retention.

Investing in mentoring will not only help encourage applicants to apply for positions and promote supportive surroundings to new graduates, but it will also help to increase productivity, commitment, engagement and morale. Practices that have integrated mentoring schemes within their structure have found it an invaluable resource to attract the best quality candidates and keep key members of the team.
