Are you looking to join a motivated and progressive farm animal practice?
Oakhill Farm Vets are an independently owned practice and an active member of the XL Vets community. We have been established for over 40 years in the centre of Lancashire’s dairy farming heartland. As a dedicated farm animal division within our multidisciplinary practice, our experienced and friendly 11-vet farm team operate an equally shared 2 vet OOH rota (1 in 11 first on call). On-call duties are generally very quiet. We are very fortunate to be located in a stunning region of the country, surrounded by the Forest of Bowland (area of outstanding natural beauty) and within close proximity of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Nearby major cities including Manchester and Liverpool are within an hour.
We are very passionate about providing a first-rate, progressive service to our clients utilising all the latest equipment, software and in-house lab equipment. Keen on knowledge transfer, we deliver an extensive farmer training and meeting schedule to our clients. Supporting our vet team, we have 3 vet techs, 2 Approved TB testers, an export vet and 4 office support staff.
CPD and further education is encouraged and fully supported with members of the team already holding postgraduate certificates in advanced veterinary practice (cattle), ruminant nutrition and DBRs. We have a strong team ethos and enjoy regular social events outside of work. The role would suit a vet with a keen interest in dairy cattle. The position could be either full-time or part-time.
