Richard Vecqueray qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Bristol University in 1995 and has worked in dairy based veterinary practices in Somerset, New Zealand and Cumbria. He has also undertaken veterinary work on Danish, Dutch and German Farms.
Richard was a Resident in Ruminant Medicine for two years at the University of Bristol and holds Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s Certificate in Cattle Health & Production. Richard has also written extensively in the farming press including, The Farmers Weekly, The Dairy Farmer and the Holstein Journal.
The influence of feeding and rationing systems on dairy cow fertility (including ET) and health have formed the basis of his continued study. Frustration at a perceived lack of veterinary influence in the field of dairy cow nutrition lead Richard to join Dugdale Nutrition, one of the countries leading regional feed compounders in 2003.
